Caring For Your Fur
Quick Guide
- Store fur products away from direct sunlight to reduce heat exposure and bleaching.
- If fur/leather becomes wet through normal use, hang dry at room temperature. Do not use heat to dry fur products as this will cause shrinkage and degradation of fur/leather.
- Do not machine wash or soak product in water. Spot wash as needed.
Summer Storage
Keep fur in a cool, dry place. Fifty percent humidity and fifty degrees Fahrenheit are optimal environmental conditions for fur storage.
Most storage areas (such as a bedroom closet) away from extreme humidity or direct heat sources and sunlight will suffice.
Hang garments with enough room between so the fur is not compressed. For hats, place on a hat stand or similar structure to retain shape.
Remember, fur is a biodegradable and natural product, so degradation from adverse conditions is possible. However, with proper care, your fur can last for multiple generations.
